Reviewer: Malcom,
I spent too much time looking and comparing TV's so I took the best bang for the Buck approach and got the 42" for $588 with free shipping.I would have given five stars but prior to hooking up my tuner I watched it for a couple of days with the built in speakers which are the only let down but only If you use them. I wasn't expecting much from this "Off-Brand" TV, but I must say that after plugging it in to my Comcast HD, I am completely blown away by the sharpest picture I've ever seen!

This site dropped the ball

I ordered this TV to receive it on July 1st, 2010 and it ended up coming to my hometown's carrier service on the 13th of July (never even heard of the carrier, but this site failed to tell me is coming from CHINA!!!!). Meanwhile this site is trying to figure out what is going on, I missed watching the World Cup final with friends, so I told the carrier to send the item back, without it even getting to my doorstep. Now the hassle of returns and talking to the Credit Card company... That's always fun.
An average guy review

Reviewer: C. Davenport,
I'm just an average guy and am about as far from a audio/video snob as you can get so when I went searching for a TV I looked mostly for price and also reviews from users (not professionals).

This is the TV I found and I am so far happy with it overall. I've had it for about a month now and no major problems have surfaced. The picture looks good and it is a big upgrade from my old 32" HDTV. The screen is NOT glossy which is a huge plus. Glossy screens reflect even the smallest hint of light which makes placing them in a room that has windows a big pain. This one is a nice matt black that I can easily see with the windows open.

The two issues I have with the TV that make it not perfect for me are somewhat minor.

First would be this TV takes a significant amount of time to turn on, probably about 4 times as long as my old TV. I can expect it to take a little longer due to it being larger, but this is really long.

The second issue is changing video inputs. For some reason the TV either is lagging bad or misses button presses on the remote because it can take several presses of the 'input' button for the menu to come up, then sometimes it misses up/down button presses and the enter key. This makes using my Logitech Harmony remote useless, it never, ever, manages to change the TV to the correct input and changing the input on the Harmony remote is such a pain in the butt that I just don't use it anymore. For some reason the Comcast remote also isn't working with the TV (only power and volumn work), so I'm back to using 4 remote controls.

Overall though for the price this was a good deal. A thousand bucks for a 55-inch? That's a steal, at least at the time of my purchase. Used my AMEX card for the free extra year warrenty.
