By Jessica On December 16, 2008 Under Advertising, Advice, Best LCD TV Reviews, Electronics, LCD Buyers Guide, LG LCD, Technology, Television

The LG 42LB5D 42" TV Displays HD programs in full 1920 x 1080p resolution for a more detailed picture. It also features true 178º viewing angle with consistent contrast and color - even while viewing at the most extreme angles. It's Super IPS Technology Reduces common distortion and blurring caused by fast motion video.

LG SIMPLINK allows for convenient control of other LG SimpLink products using the existing HDMI connection. Experience your digital music (MP3) and photo (JPEG) library with USB Media Host. Six distinct processes contribute to picture improvement.

LG's XD Engine takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. This total solution results in cinematic, high-resolution images.

The picture only goes weird if you use the lower end inputs, as with most non direct view sets. ( ie, plasma, LCD sets ). Use the HDMI input when ever possible. If you’re using a cable box that utilizes composite ( yellow, red & white cords ) you are really robbing yourself of a superior viewing experience.

It’s simple as this… LCD is better for light rooms,videogames.. Plasma is better for Sports and Movies.
